How to calculate Carburetor Size

To calculate the correct carburetor size for your engine, you need to know the engine RPM, the engine displacement, and the volumetric efficiency. This calculator uses the formula:

Carburetor Size (CFM) = (RPM * Displacement * Volumetric Efficiency) / 3456

For example, to find the recommended carburetor size for an engine with a displacement of 350 cubic inches, a max speed of 6,500 RPM, and 85% volumetric efficiency:

$$\text{Carburetor Size (CFM)} = \frac{350 \times 6500 \times 0.85}{3456}$$

$$\text{Carburetor Size (CFM)} = \frac{1,928,750}{3456}$$

$$\text{Carburetor Size (CFM)} \approx 558.17$$
